Dr. Aliya Sembayeva is a Ph.D. graduate from the University of Liverpool, specializing in innovation and knowledge management. With a focus on sustainable development, she currently serves as the Horizon Europe Coordinator in Kazakhstan, driving forward scientific collaboration and research initiatives.
Dr. Mereke Tanaguzova is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in Public Policy at the Graduate School of Public Policy Nazarbayev University, specializing in the impact of the World Trade Organization on trade development in developing countries. Her research, which employs the gravity model, pays particular attention to the trade dynamics of CIS countries.
Dr. Gulzhanat Gafu is a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Graduate School of Education, Nazarbayev University, and holds a Ph.D. from the University College London-Institute of Education. She is currently Working on the Central Asian Research Ethics project.
Dr. Slyamzhar Akhmetzharov completed his doctoral studies at the Graduate School of Public Policy, Nazarbayev University, and is currently a researcher at the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Anar Shaikenova completed her Ph.D. from Nazarbayev University in Public Policy in May 2024. She has twenty years of vast experience as consultant in small business development, trade facilitation, and strategic trade controls and sanctions with the Asian Development Bank, USAID, and the U.S. Department of State. Her research interests are a wide net of civil society and economic development issues, including anticorruption, regulatory reforms, strategic trade controls and sanctions.
