This interdisciplinary project aims to explore whether and how universities in Kazakhstan are providing education that gives students the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values to become socially responsible global citizens and shape a sustainable future.
Focusing on student perspectives, this study aims to:
· explore the attitudes and perspectives of students towards sustainability in Kazakhstan;
· analyze the policy and institutional context within which Kazakh HE promotes sustainability;
· explore the ways universities can better support students in developing the skills and knowledge related to sustainability;
· understand the ways universities can be better supported in contributing to the culture of sustainability within their institution though promoting student engagement.
