On May 30, 2023, SDSN Kazakhstan hosted its 1st Conference on Sustainable Development Goals at Nazarbayev University.

It was a one-day conference with 6 Panel Sessions and 19 keynote speakers. The total registered number of attendees for the conference was 356 (225 in-person, 131 online), which demonstrated genuine public interest in the themes of the conference. The event was designed to provide attendees with academic and professional backgrounds with quality educational and networking opportunities focused on sustainable development in Central Asia.

The Conference covered the following areas:

• Climate and Energy;
• Education, Partnerships and Green Development;
• Water, Land, Communities;
• SDG Nexus Network;
• SDSN Kazakhstan Youth Activities and Initiatives;
• The Way Forward for SDGs on research and education in Kazakhstan.
